Portrait Sketches from Australia and New Zealand Trip

Estonian Windmills

This relief print is of the windmills I photographed two years ago in Estonia. The left is Estonian style. The building is rectangular and the whole structure is turned manually when the wind shifts. The windmill on the right is the kind that Van Gogh pictured.

Woodcut plate

My latest project is relief prints made with MDF plates which resemble wood block. The picture shows the inked block.

New Work New Exhibit

I have been contuing my experiments with collographs ( or  collagraphs, both are correct). The latest have been made with just cut paper on top of good quality paper. I notice that it is easier to work with scissors than with an Exacto knife.

I have also coninued with oil portraits. Pictured are some examples. Most are on display at the Bartlett Viallage Hall gallery during the month of June. The reception is scheduled for 6:30 on June 21. The exhibit is sponsored by Arts In Bartlett.

Collograph demo for Des Plaines Art Guild

Monday night I will be demonstrating various collograph techniques with some new advice about water based printmaking inks at the Prairiei Lakes Community Center in Des Plaines.
