Artist Statement
Sigrid Wonsil is a figurative painter and printmaker who draws inspiration from her experiences in nursing, travel, teaching, and living. She spent 15 years working in obstetrics and geriatrics, the beginning and the end of life, a recurring theme in her art.
Her focus is on the beautiful and heroic in ordinary everyday life, especially in the life of the elderly and the disabled, a beauty that could easily be overlooked.
